Deluxe NIX 12-Inch is great! The sleek and stylish modern look has the feel of an iPad. The pictures are bright and vibrant, tones are rich and appear to jump out at you. It comes with a remote which has 32 bubble style buttons. The remote works okay but sometimes chokes if you push the buttons too quickly. The design was a little unconventional, you have to line some tabs up with  a slot on the back and push and turn. The back support rotates 90 degrees and can be ratcheted to be long or short to support that frame. The power switch is a bit difficult to flick when reaching around from the front but that’s no big deal.

The unit has a image resolution of 800×600 pixels. The frame knows if it is in landscape or portrait mode and automatically rotates your pictures. You have the option of shrink to fit or expand and crop for pictures that are not the 4:3 aspect ratio. You can view the photos from an angle and they don’t seem to be distorted. It is thin enough and light enough to hang on the wall if you wanted to.

Deluxe NIX has a motion sensor (best feature of all) on it and you can set a timeout period. It plays some MP4 video, just not very well. But playing movies is not its strong point. The frame has a lot of internal memory (2 GB). It is a lot by today’s standards.

The screen reflects light and other objects annoyingly well. It is also super sensitive to fingerprints. Keep a cleaning rag handy. The documentation is very minimal. Instruction manual could be more detailed in explaining exactly how to download your pictures. Would like a battery for portability.

Admittedly the frame is expensive, but it is big enough to be seen across the room and high quality. The price does fluctuate so you can get this product for $100.

Light weight, slim design, great photo quality and truly portable. The LCD itself is very nice. The 8 inch frame is viewable from across the room with a good amount of detail and for most people it should be fine. The Hu-Motion Motion Detection Sensor has a range of about 3 meters. It works great by turning the unit off automatically at the desired time length. Images are crisp and look fantastic on the screen.

It can last up to 4 hours on a single charge or you can have it directly plugged into the electrical socket. Remote control has all the functions that you need. Show fingerprints but can easily by wiped cleaned. It also has wall mount hook holes.

This is a great gift idea and a superb bargain for the features it has.
